Appointment of Vanessa Déglise and Sofia Bassova as partners

OBERSON ABELS SA is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Vanessa Déglise, Esq. and Ms. Sofia Bassova as partners.

 

Vanessa Déglise primarily practices in the areas of employment law, pension benefits law and international coordination of social security. She advises broad range of Swiss and international clients, including companies, institutions and senior executives, on matters arising in these areas.

She holds a master’s degree in law from Fribourg University and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School. She was admitted to the Geneva Bar in 2011 and also holds the Swiss federal Diploma as Social Insurance Specialist. Over the course of nearly fifteen years in legal practice, she has gained experience working for a company servicing pension funds and for a law firm in the United States. Her background also includes significant experience in corporate law, contractual matters and M&A transactions, enabling her to bring a broad and multidisciplinary perspective to her practice.

Her working languages are French and English.

 

Sofia Bassova’s practice focuses primarily on Swiss and international tax law. She advises a Swiss and international clients, including companies, entrepreneurs and private individuals, on complex tax matters, with particular expertise in corporate taxation, restructurings, wealth reorganisations and cross-border matters.

As Swiss Certified Tax Expert since 2014, she advises clients on tax planning and represents them in proceedings before cantonal and federal tax authorities. Her practice also encompasses international tax law, international mobility, corporate restructurings and business succession planning.

With extensive experience in both domestic and international matters, she adopts a pragmatic approach, taking into account the tax, legal and commercial considerations specific to each situation.

Her working languages are French, English and Russian.
