OBERSON ABELS SA is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexandra Pillonel as Partner with effect from January 1, 2024, and to announce the appointments of Alejandro Maniewicz Wins, Lysandre Papadopoulos & Jessica Salom as Counsel.

Alexandra Pillonel becomes a partner on January 1, 2024.

Alexandra Pillonel holds a Master’s degree in Business Law (UniGE) and joined OBERSON AVOCATS in September 2006, then OBERSON ABELS SA in 2016 as an associate specializing in indirect taxation (VAT and customs duties) for companies and individuals. Within the firm, she is mainly active in the field of indirect taxation, in particular VAT and customs duties.

Alexandra Pillonel teaches as part of the CAS in Finance and Accounting at the University of Lausanne and the Master IEI offered by the Institute of Real Estate Studies in Geneva. She is also a lecturer in the LL.M. Tax program at the University of Geneva.

Alejandro Maniewicz Wins (left in photo)

With a doctorate in law (UniFR) and an MJur (Oxford University), Alejandro Maniewicz Wins was admitted to the Geneva bar in 2017. In 2023, he graduated as a Tax Expert with the highest Swiss average.

He joined OBERSON ABELS SA in 2021, and advises clients, in particular, on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, real estate transactions and international taxation. He also assists private clients with their personal planning.

He is now also involved in EXPERTsuisse’s tax expertise training program, as Regional Manager for French-speaking Switzerland for the “Personal taxation” module.

Lysandre Papadopoulos (right in photo)

Lysandre Papadopoulos was admitted to the Geneva Bar in 2013, after studying law at the Universities of Geneva and Zurich and at Harvard Law School.

A regular author of publications in his chosen fields, Lysandre Papadopoulos practices public law, mainly administrative and tax law, with a specialization in procedural law and administrative criminal law. He is also active in the field of administrative investigations.

He advises clients in French, German and English.

Jessica Salom (not pictured)

Holder of a law degree (UniL), an LL.M Tax (NYU) and a doctorate in Swiss and international tax law (UniNE), Jessica Salom was admitted to the Geneva bar in 2012.

Jessica Salom then worked at the State Secretariat for International Financial Matters (SFI), where she coordinated and defended Switzerland’s position on the BEPS project at the OECD. She was subsequently appointed Head of the Transfer Pricing Authority, with responsibility for all out-of-court transfer pricing procedures for Switzerland. She then moved to the Geneva Cantonal Tax Administration, where she was Head of the External Control Department.

Jessica Salom joined OBERSON ABELS SA in Lausanne in January 2021. She specializes in Swiss and international tax law, with a focus on the GloBE Pillar 2 rules (BEPS Project). Her working languages are French, English and German.

She also teaches in the MAS LL.M, Tax Law, at the University of Geneva, in the CAS in SME taxation at the University of Neuchâtel, and in the CAS in Finance and Accounting at the University of Lausanne.
